My little baby boy is 7 months old today! Where does the time go?? When he was a newborn I couldn't wait for him to get older and be more independent, but I LOVE the age he is now, and I'm just starting to get sad when he gets bigger. But I know that every stage is exciting in it's own way :) He is pretty much crawling now, and he gives me kisses. heheh. he's so cute!

In other news, I went to see "We Bought a Zoo" with a friend yesterday! It was a such a cute movie. You have to love a movie with Matt Damon in it, right??

My husband is leaving for another deployment fairly soon and I'm moving home to Kansas for it. He has been gone for some training this week and will be gone for another week ish, and it is making me sooo grateful that I get to go home during deployment! It is SO much more work by yourself with a baby! I have really missed my "me" time this week.

Day 6 of my 30, or maybe more, day juice fast! And I'm down 6 pounds and feeling great! Oh man those first 4 days were soooooooo hard. I stayed home all week and took a nap every time Emery(my 7 month old son) did!
I'm going to start exercising again this week, because not only do I need to lose body mass but I need to tone up this post-baby flab! yuck.

I really want to lose 18 more pounds to get to my goal weight, it's the weight I've always felt the best at! Onc I hit 135 I'll post a progress photo, only 7 more pounds!

I have become obsessed with B&N lately! AND I got a giftcard for Christmas and purchased a photography book. AND a Kandinsky bio. Seriously, he is an amazing artist no doubt... but I can't imagine being so passionate about art that I would leave my spouse to go to a new country to pursue it! A bit dramatic in my opinion. But it was a great read none the less!

Emery's dedication was Christmas sunday! Our faith is something that's very important to us, and having him dedicated just means basically that we want to be held accountable to be godly parents and raise him in a home with strong christian values :)

We will strive to be the best parents we can be!

It was sooo nice to have all of our family and a few friends together on Christmas sunday!

Bah humbug!

I am not a fan on N.C. It's alwaaaaaays freakin hot outside! I'm so tired of being hot. I'm pretty sure I would be comfortable outside today in shorts and a t-shirt.
Cannot wait to be home in Kansas next week! You can take the girl out of Kansas but your can't take Kansas out of the girl ;)
I grew up hating Kansas and so badly wanting to move and seek out some new adventures. But I'm starting to realize that Kansas has a little bit of everything! I miss it.

Let's talk about fitness.

As you all may know, I had a baby in June! Which is great and everything but afterward I realized that it was going to take a lot of work to get remotely back to normal!
You all should know, I am not one of those lucky little things that cuts soda out of her diet and drops 10 lbs!
I have to work my butt off, (literally), and eat incredibly healthy, (and watch portion sizes/carbs/everything).
I have really been trying to focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle instead of just "dieting". I got a vitamix blender for Christmas and I have been making everything with whole foods! It is amazing! And I've been juicing a lot as well. I have noticed that I spend the same amount on groceries either way. So why not go healthy? Al those processed and preserved foods are sooooo bad and make me feel disgusting.

Anyway, I gained about 35 pounds all together while I was pregnant, lost 18 right away, in the first few months I lost a few more, and in the last couple months I've been working really hard and have lost 7 more! So I still have like 10 more to go. But I'm exciting to be making progress!

I also started doing the couch to 5k program, I am NOT a runner! Haha. So It's a work in progress. I can only run a mile at a time, but I try to run 4-5 miles a week and walk a few as well.

I should also note, since I've been juicing and eating whole foods my skin has been amaaaazing! I hardly wear anything but eye make-up anymore.

So there's my story, I will continue to track and share my progress!

In honor of December (my birthday month! and jesus') I pulled out the winter boots for the first time this season!

I'm not going to lie, this winter outfit was way too hot. I was miserable! And all I did was go to the grocery store and make some baby food! (which is super fun, by the way.)

Has anyone else been watching all of the cheesy Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel? Maybe I'm a sap but I'm loving them. I literally watch them all day. (At least when I'm not playing my new Xbox game. Just Dance 3......which I am TERRIBLE at!)

I watched this one the other night called, "The Christmas Card". It was about a lady that wrote a Christmas card to a soldier in Afghanistan, so of course it perked my interest. (since Mr. Husband is army). I love watching military movies with him because I think it's quite hilarious to listen to him correct all of the terms they got wrong.

Nevertheless the charming soldier comes to find this woman in the states, the woman is quite matronly and already has a boyfriend. Which would never happen in real life.

AND the soldier was wearing a blazer at one point, while chopping wood. Which also would never happen.

But all in all it was enjoyable. I just love the simplicity of Christmas movies, no langauge, no sex, no drugs.

call me old fashioned if you want!

Mr. Husband had a 4-day weekend last week, and then Thanksgiving weekend is coming up as well! I'm trying to enjoy our time as much as possible before he goes over seas next year. So proud of my handsome veteran ;)

It is so nice to feel good in my normal clothes again. Every month my body goes back to normal a little bit more! To any of you readers trying to lose baby weight and get back in shape, be patient! Work hard and it will happen! My baby is almost 5 months old and despite working my butt off, my body is still not back to normal.

For those of you who don't know me let me tell you a little something about myself...
I HATE the country.
I am currently visiting my family in Kansas and they live in the country. Get this... farmers drive their HUGE tractors on our civilian roads, at like -3 MPH.
there's no starbucks, no 3g. I have to walk on gravel. And there are bugs, lots of bugs.
I'm not looking forward to going back to NC... but I am looking forward to my cute house in the suburbs with 3g and a starbucks nearby.

This is the first time I've worn anything this figure showing since the baby. I was pretty excited it didn't look that bad even though I haven't lost anymore weight. Yeah, weight watchers is what the name says...watching your weight...stay the SAME.

I think I have decided this dress is pretty shapeless and it's time for it to go! I'm planning on doing a serious closet clean out soon. And I got this sweater dress in 2007 or 08?

Well Saturdays are usually a good day... because Friday nights are Mr Husband's nights to stay up with Emery! That means this mama gets caught up on her rest! But the husband now has to go to work on Saturdays too... so I still have to get up at 6 am with the babay. And if you know me you know I am a night owl... NOT a morning person.. bleh.

So today we just took it easy... me and Emery snuggled and took a 2 hour nap. And I watched my recorded episodes of One Tree Hill and the O.C.

I'm a loser... I know.

These last several photo posts have been depressing me and making me realize I'm in desperate need of new clothes. I'm feeling way more frumpy than fashionable! 10 months of pregnancy really cuts into clothes shopping.

Last night me and Mr. Husband went to a military ball! I'm not going to lie, I wasn't that excited.... I would have loved to purchased a gorgeous formal and gotten super fancy! But It was sooo hard to find a dress that would fit right! (being 18 weeks pregnant) I was pretty bummed. I even cried when I put on my dress and complained to my husband that I have no waist line! hahaha.
anyway, everything came together, and I tried to look as "Audrey Hepburn/Marilyn Monroe" as possible!

Just kidding. Christmas was wonderful (happy birthday to Jesus! woot woot)

Had such a fun Christmas here in Kansas, my mom made me a hand bag! and my grandma got me a mini Keurig! I was pretty thrilled.

In other news, I totally got knocked up! By Mr. Husband of course. I am 3 & 1/2 months now. we are supposed to find out what we're having soon.

This was definitely not planned... I have had a hard time accepting this actually, I'm trying not to feel like my life as an independent spirit is over. But I realize that everything happens for a reason, and God must think it's time for us to have a little monster! (yeah, I don't really like kids... everyone says it will be different with my own, let's hope)

It took me a while to announce this. Mostly because when I talk about it I feel like puking. Well I pretty much feel like that all the time now.

Yep, I was MIA.... again. We were lucky enough to go home for Thanksgiving :) so worth the 12.5 hour drive!
Have you all decorated for Christmas yet?? Me and my husband watch Elf, listened to Christmas music, and baked cookies..... after that we were in the Christmas spirit so we decorated.... BEFORE Thanksgiving. tragic, I know.

My hair is kind of at an awkward stage right now, so I tried out a different style last week! It was the first time I curled my hair since March, haha.

I don't have a very good picture taking set-up. I put it on self timer and then go pose, but the closest thing to set the camera on is my computer table, which is lower than me.... So every time I take photos I have a double chin! ew. it just shows up! I always go and look in the mirror frantically afterwards to make sure it's not there at eye level! hahah.

So, we have a cat and a dog. We have had Isis(cat) for a year and 1/2. But we just got Jasper(dog) this summer. I always dreamed of having a golden retriever and couldn't wait for the day when I had a cute doggy curled up on the couch with me. Well now that day is finally here............and he's DRIVING ME CRAZY.

the theme for work the other day was "pink". and I HATE pink. I always have.... I don't know what is wrong with me. I think it was because I was the only girl until I was like 13. Even all my cousins were boys... so I was spoiled, and always dressed in pink..... and ruffles..... you know, the dreaded ruffle panties. nightmares.
so this is what I wore... and you know what they said? that's not PINK enough! grrr.....so I bought a $4 hot pink t-shirt. And I don't have photos of it...........I um.... forgot?

well, the weather is still getting cooler! day by day....by day by day by day (meet the parents, anyone?)

For some reason the change in weather is making my skin act up! took me forever to get my make-up just right today... and my face is all puffy this week! so weird.

good news, this week I have worked out 4 times already! mr husband (who is in the army...and a work out guy) told me that to see results I should work out 5-6 times a week! ugh. I'm shooting for 5 :p

I have been alternating the "30 day shred" with running/walking on the treadmill. every other day! It's been working really well with my schedule too!

I love having my hair back to my natural color, it looks so much better and healthy than colored! My coloring days are over for sure.
Today at work we are supposed to wear "coco sport" theme clothing. like teeny bopper stuff. high tops, neon colors, 80's inspired, black.
and guess who has none of the above? ME.
so I'm going to work early today so I can buy a stupid shirt to wear. Hopefully I can find something that I will wear more than once :p

today is my second day. but I am going to Kansas for my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary party in a couple of weeks and I would like to lose 5 more lbs before then!

I only have to work 12-6 tonight! I almost always have to close! so it's nice I can spend the evening with Mr. Husband.

I don't know what it is, but this past month I have no been able to sleep! last night I got to sleep just before 3 I think. and I wake up all night.

And then last night I had a "nightmare", you ready for this? I had a dream me and my husband had 2 baby boys, and they were only like a month apart! one was really cute and the other one had these deformed shoulder bones and HUGE ears and was the ugliest baby ever!

We had a good laugh about it this morning though...

it's been a while, eh? it's been a really crazy week. Mr. husband left for some training, I had my job interview, one of my bff's had her babay! (it's a girl!) And everything kinda fell apart with me going to school. I just can't afford to spend $40,000 on an associates degree! ridiculous. we will see what happens next.

but aside from this crazy week, I got the job at forever 21! I'm pretty excited about it!

by the way, Forever 21 started carrying maternity clothes! I think it's nice for a store to carry trendy maternity clothes, and it's about time.
what is your opinion about this? Someone else I talked to thought it was promoting teen pregnancy?
I never even thought about that....since I know people who are in their 30's that shop there.
but I guess it's a matter of opinion.
